The
horse of spirit bereft of saddle
This is the meaning of “Sleep is the sister of death”
In
order for them to come back in day time
A long rope has been tied to their legs
So
that it can be retreated back from the green field in daytime
And they will be loaded after returning from green field
The
discussion of sleeping has been made in these couplets i.e. the spirits are made
free from the worldly relations. It is in hadith – النَّومُ اَخُ والْمَوْتُ, which means ‘sleeping is like death’, as
there are commonality between the two regarding the disconnection with the
world. But in order for the spirits (ارواح)
to come back to the bodies in daytime, a long rope is tied in their legs. Like
a horse has been tied with a rope from a peg when left for grazing, so that
could be pulled back whenever one likes and put in use. This means that the
relation with life be maintained, so that spirits could be pulled back in this
world from the عالیمِ مثال.
