The
king asked Laila that are you the one
Because of whom, Majnoo became troubled & mad
He
said you are no more than other girls
She said be stopped! As you are not Majnoo
If
you are having the eyes of Majnoo
Then both the worlds would have been nothing for you
You
are in senses and Majnoo was not in-sense condition
Being in-sense condition is bad in the path of love
The
questioning of king to Laila and her answer
The
caliph had asked Laila that are you the same girl, due to which Majnoon has
been worried and his intelligence has been lost. But you seem to be like any
other girl and there is nothing specific about you and then what is the issue
behind this. She replied that be silent! as you are not Majnoon and had you
been bestowed with the eyes of Majnoon, then both the worlds would have been
seemed nothing. The difference between you and Majnoon is that you are in your self
(senses) and Majnoon moved beyond this
and therefore you cannot comprehend my beauty and Majnoon cannot see anyone
else me, because he has comprehended. Saa’di states:
The path to see Laila is through the eyes of majnoon, and
rest cannot see
The
alertness and intelligence (in-sense condition) are bad things in the path of
ishq. Maulana has given the example of sealing one’s eyes and ears, as the that
seal or veil is the worldly intelligence and prudence, wherein excess of
thoughts of other than Allah is unavoidable. When there are thoughts of other
than Allah clinging to your conditions, then how could you be able to vie for
the thoughts of Allah and the via media of this desire i.e. search and
recognition of saints. Thus he explains these things in detail in following
couplets.
