سایہ یزداں بود بندہ خدا
A
pious servant of Allah is His shadow
مردہ ایں عالم و زندہ خدا
He is like dead in this world and live for Allah
دامنِ اُو گیر زُو تر بے گماں
Take
allegiance quickly with him without any doubt
تار ہی از آفتِ آخر زماں
So that you will get rid of troubles of Hereafter
Following
the pious wali (friend of Allah)
After
stating the condemnation of thoughts of world and its desire, he now states the
way to get rid of this problem. That treatment is to incline towards an
accomplished sheikh and training, allegiance & obedience from the part of
the seekers. He then states that if some ظل اللّاہ (shadow of Allah) becomes the patron of
this person, then he can get this person rid of thoughts and shadow of the
world and its desires. The reference by ظل اللّاہ is a perfect pious servant
of Allah, who is like a dead in this world but live one in the eyes of Allah (i.e.
he is so unaware of this world akin to a corpse and very alert & aware as
far as Truth is concerned). One has to make such saint as patron immediately
without casting any doubt and detailed analysis. So that you will be saved from
the troubles of the last breath i.e. disputes of faith (ِامان) at that time which occurs due to dominance of worldly thoughts,
as has been stated by Imam Ghazali.
The
world has been compared in above couplets with the shadow, which is due to the fact
that this is a baseless thing like shadow. Whereas here the accomplished sheikh
has also been compared with the shadow but with reference to solid base, like
shadow is the proof for the existence of sun and a saintly person is the proof
and guide towards Allah, as is coming in the following couplets.
