If
you say him believer, he becomes happy
If you say hypocrite, he becomes angry
He
loves his name because of its link
And his name is for enmity because of troubles associated with it
Letters
م& وorم & ن don’t carry any attributes in itself
Word مومن is nothing but a reference
If
you say hypocrite, it is a cursed name
It stings in heart like the sting of scorpion
If
this name is originated from hell
Then does it carry the tastes of hell
The
meaning and truth behind the names has been discussed in these couplets, as
there is so much connectivity and impersonation between the names and its
meaning & effect that these words,
which are otherwise have no effect at all, are also associated with these
attributes. Therefore, call someone believer (مومن),
he will be happy and call someone hypocrite (منافق),
he will be angry. Further Maulana Rum details that the effect is not in the
words per se but in the meaning of these words and therefore states that the
name of مومن, which is lovable and is because of the
its basis i.e. its good attributes i.e. in fact, those good attributes are
likeable and lovable and the bad attributes (of منافق)
are detestable and the words مومن and منافق are likeable & detestable because they are proof of these
attributes. The parts of مومن are م, و, م and ن, and what is the
impact of these letters and hence these letters & words are merely for
recognition and differentiation. Whatsoever, impact is there, that is in its
reason as this is the attributes of pious. Saying someone as منافق will create pinch in the heart that is also because of the fact
this name is attributed to the hell as it is derived from there i.e. related to
bad attributes. This particular has been devised as a proof for these
attributes, therefore it has the taste of hell, as listening to it produces
some sort angriness.
