Couplet 395-398

چوں بسے ابلیس آدم روئے ہست

There are a number of satans in human faces

پس بہر دستے نشاید داد دست

Thus don’t give your hand to any hand (pledge)

زانکہ صیّاد آورد بانگِ صفیر

A hunter used to call in birds’ language

تا فریبد مرغِ را آں مرغ گیر

To trap the birds in the garb of speech

بشنود آں مرغ بانگِ جنسِ خویش

The bird listens to the voice of similar to it

از ہوا آید بیابد دام و نیش

And come down from top to find it a trap only

حرفِ درویشاں بدُزد دمردِ دوں

A false person used to say the words of knowledgeable one

تا بخواند بر سلیمے زاں فسوں

So that he can trap someone simple fellow

The difference between the researcher (محقّق) & the braggard and between People of right and wrong

              It has been narrated above that sometimes right (حق) and wrong (باطل) apparently looks same and hence there is need to understand the difference between the same, so that a seeker should not go to a false master due to error of judgment and by pledged (بیعت) to such sheikhs, resulting in destroying his whole life. Therefore, it is required to warn on this context in these couplets. Else we can say that it has been narrated above that the senses required to identify the dubious/ ambiguous issues be searched through a perfect sheikh i.e. in following Couplet 380 and hence he states that do not make everyone the sheikh.:

صحّتِ آں حِسِّ بجوئید از حبیب

And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy - devils from mankind and jinn, inspiring to one another decorative speech in delusion.

              Therefore, one should not pledge to anybody before ascertaining the facts about him. Giving an example, he says that the procedure of a hunter is to call the birds in their own language and listening to the voice from their co-birds, the bird comes down and get trapped. Similarly, the dubious people has a habit of posing as dervish by uttering the words of dervish so that a simple person comes into the effect of the words of these people (سلیم also means a person bitten by snakes and using it along with افسوں is the requirement of poetry) and the seekers after listening to these words and speeches of these people believe them and get entrapped in deadly row and in great error.
