Thus said
goldsmith and was buried thereafter
The girl got relieved from the pain and trouble
Because
the love with the corpse is not sustainable
As the dead are not coming back to us
The ishq
of Living Being (Allah) for soul &
eye (external & internal)
Is always fresh even more than a bud of flower
Employ
the ishq of The Living One (Allah), who is eternal
And will shower you with tasty wine
Employ
the ishq of His, all the prophets
Got fame and success from His ishq
Don’t
say that you don’t have the access to Him
As nothing is difficult for Merciful
That
goldsmith after saying the above mentioned words died and the girl became free
from the ailment as well as the love. Now Maulana Rum states the reason of
declining of this ishq is that the ishq of the corpse has no life or
sustenance, as the corpse is not coming back to us. Rather, the ishq of the Living
One (i.e. حیّ القیوم) is providing the freshness like a bunch
of fresh fruits in respect of rooh and this life and hence adopt this ishq of the
Living One, which remains as ever, and ساقی (bartender) like ever comfortable wine
i.e. tatse of His ishq. [Maulana compares the carnal ishq as the ishq of a
corpse]. Thus go for that ishq, with which all the prophets received fame,
grace and elevation. Don’t think that how can be our access to that esteemed
court, as there is nothing difficult for The Most Mercyful (Allah Ta’ala). Though
you cannot reach with your own efforts, but He is the most merciful and will
bestow upon you His access, as is also in the Hadith:
من تقرب منی شبرا تقربت الیہ ذراعا
It
is cleared from the above story that the carnal ishq declines after union (وصل),
decline of beauty and hopelessness of union due to some separation (death
etc.), as Mulana states in couplet 281 (زانکہ عِشق
This
is also clear that the Real Ishq never declines neither of meeting (وصل), as
the there is a desire at one stage for
the next stage, as there is no apprehension for the declining of the beauty. Couplet
283 (عشقِ آں زندہ گُزیں کُوباقی ست) and there is no such separation, which does
not create expectation and hope for meeting. As there is no frustration for the
believer and those who has destiny of
frustration and negation, they
are deprived of the ishq.
