بعدِ سہ رہز و سہ شب حیراں و زار
After
a period of three days and three nights,
بر دُکاں نبشستہ بُد نومیدوار
He was sitting in the shop dejected & perplexed
با ہزاران غصّہ و غم گشتہ جُفت
Indulged
in thousands of grief and pain
کاے عجب ایں مرغ کے آید نگفت
Wondering! When the parrot starts talking?
می نمود آں مرغ را ہر گو شگفت
Showing
different kind of unique things to it
وز تعجّب لبْ بدنداں می گرفت
And biting his lips anxiously, when it didn’t talk
و مبدم می گفت با اُو ہر سُخن
He
used to do various type of talks with parrot
تاکہ باشد کانذر آید در سُخن
In anticipation if it starts talking
بر اُمیدِ آنکہ مرغ آید بگفت
In
expectation of its talking,
چشم اُو را با صورمی کرد جُفت
He was showing various kinds of photos to it
Three
days and nights had been passed, the perfume seller was sitting in his shop in
a anxious, troubled & perplexed manner and sadly thinking as to when this
parrot starts speaking. He had shown the parrot different kind of things but
the parrot was not speaking and he kept biting his lips in trouble. He also
tried to talk to the parrot different type of things thinking that the parrot
might speak and hence showing it different kind of pictures etc.
