روز کے چندے سخن کوتاہ کرد
Parrot
stopped talking for few days
مردِ بُقّال از ندامد آہ کرد
Greengrocer was repentant and remorseful
رِیش برمی کند دمی گفت اے دریغ
He
started plucking his beard i.e. remorsing
کافتابِ نعمتم شد زیرِ میغ
And saying that sun of my fate got hidden behind the cloud
دستِ من بشکستہ بودے از زماں
Thinking
had my hand got broken at that time
کہ زدم من بر سرِ آں خوش زباں
When I hit the head of that good voiced bird
ہدیہ ہامی داد ہر درویش را
He
used to give gifts to every dervish
تا بیابد نطقِ مرغِ خویش را
So that he could be able to get the voice of parrot back
The
parrot did not speak to him for some days and the owner was very sad and
remorsing a lot and was feeling that the beauty of his shop has gone, like the
sun comes under the cloud. Why did not
my hand broken when I had hit the parrot. He was gifting to beggars and others
in order to get the voice of his parrot back.
