The
king didn’t do that killing for lust or greed
You should stop doubting & disputing it
You
thought that he was indulged in his desires
But how can cleaning leave the contaminants
This
work and struggle is for the purpose
That the contaminants be removed from silver in the hearth
The
examination of pure and impure is for the purpose
That the passion picks up & gold brings its impurities to top with froth
O’
you doubter, leave the insinuations
And read “Indeed some doubts are sins”
Had
this work is not done through the intuition from Allah
He would have been a dog and not a king
He
(the king) is free from lust, greed and desires
He did a good job, a good which looks like bad apparently
The
killing done by the king was not for the lust or worldly desire. Thus you
should leave the doubt and dispute regarding this, as you might be thinking that
the king was involved in the sin. This doubt of yours is wrong, as the king had
already been purified through the austerities (ریاضت) and how can cleansing leave impurities there in the process of
cleansing. Since the bad attributes are not leaving easily and hence the
struggles (ریاضت) and austerities (مجاہدات) are being practiced so that the bad attributes be separated
from the good habits. This is like the hearth, which makes impurities be
separated from the silver, only it needs to be melted and thus melting is akin
to austerities (ریاضت) and separation of impurities from silver is like the
purification of self after struggles and austerities. Therefore, you should be
refrained from the doubting and see what
Allah Ta’ala has said (Quran 49:12):
Indeed, some assumption is sin
The
examination of good and bad (whether the endeavors are by rule (شرعہ) or through genesis i.e.
whether by self or by constraint) are due to the fact to see them separated
from each other, like the gold when melted shows fervor and throw all the
impurities at the top so that the same be removed and the gold will be
purified. Thus if the action of the king is not according to the intuition (الہام), then he will be a worldly inclined dog and not a king. In fact,
he was clean of lust & greed and whatever he had done is for good, though
it looks bad outwardly/ apparently.
