کشتنِ آں مرد برستِ حَکیم
The killing
of that person in the hands of the doctor
نے پئے امید بود و نے زبیم
Was not due to any greed or any fear
اُو نکشتش از برائے طبعِ شاہ
He
didn’t kill him on behalf of the king
تا نیامد اَمر و اِلہام از الاہ
Till he gets a direction and intuition from Allah
Killing
the goldsmith was Allah’s direction and not with any bad motive
There
is apprehension that the doctor killed the goldsmith by contaminating the sherbet
without any of his faults and the king tolerated this act. Maulana stated in the
preceding couplets that these two (I,e, doctor and the king) are gnostics and
followers of religion. Maulana answers it that the killing was not due to any
worldly desires, as he did not desire any favour from the king or his wrath or
any pressure from him, but it is because of only inspiration.
