صد ہزاراں دام و دانہ ست ایخدا
O’Allah!
We are among the millions of traps and tricks
ما چو مرغانِ حریص دبے نوا
Like greedy and hungry birds
دَمبدم پابتہ دامِ نوایم
We
are being trapped in a new trick everytime
ہر یکے گر باز و سیمرغے شویم
Even though we become hawk or phonix
می رہانی ہر دمے مارا و باز
You
are elevating us all the time & then
سوئے دامِ می رویم اے بے نیاز
We start moving towards a trap, O’ You free from any want!
This
is in connection with the supplication made i.e. there are millions of traps
and snares and our condition is like a greedy bird, who is getting trapped in
one or the other snare. Even though if we are a phoenix or a hawk, it is Your
grant and favour that You are saving us from these traps and we again move
towards the other traps. The explanation of these couplets is that we get
snared into the different kinds traps of nafs and satan. We are always
susceptible to different dangers and whispers howsoever small, it may be and
whatsoever big or perfect (کامل), a person may be. You are saving us from these by You are
guiding light, which guides us to move out of these dangers, but we get trapped
into the other tricks.
