سایہ خواب آرد تُرا ہمچوں سَمَرْ
Shadow, like storytelling, lets you sleep

اِنْشَقَّ الْقَمَرْ   چوں بر آید شمس
The moon gets shadowed, when sun comes out

In this couplet too, the difference between the external sun and the Real Sun has been described and the importance of the latter has been stressed and instructed. The reference with سایہ is the same shadow that is opposite of sunlight which is the effect of sun and the شمس is referred for noor of Real Sun i.e. Allah Ta’ala, which descends in the hearts of gnostics. سمر is parable or storytelling in the night for pleasant sleep and  قمر means the existence of possibilities. The reason of quoting this is like the external moon gets its light from the external sun     as is popularly said نور ال قمر مستفاد من نور ال شمس. Similarly, existence of possibilities is due to the favour of  the Real Sun. Thus it is clear and firm belief that if Allah Ta’ala does not favour the existence of all possible things, then their existence will be no more. Thus the result of this couplet is that how can the external sun and the Real Sun be equal. The external sun also sets, moves out of sight and only the shadow remains, which leads to sleep and negligence. The way the sleep occurs while listening to the story in the absence of the sun is a matter of medicinal science and is of common observation. The essence is that the external sun  also sets in and during this time, the sleep dominates and negligence occurs, whereas the Real Sun never sets in and moves away, rather is always full of noor and the appearance of which forms the basis of the existence of all the possibilities, as discussion has been taken place on وحدت الوجود in the preface of this book. But the information of the manifestation of Allah Ta’ala will not happen till the time one understands the existence of all the worldly possibilities & things as weak, squandered and useless. And when the comprehension and understanding of the noor of Allah actually happens , at that time, the existence of all the possibilities (like that of the moon) will be revealed & known to be of dark and of no use and this is termed as ‘انشقاق’, the meaning of which is to tear away or reduce to pieces. Thus there won’t be the same noor in the pieces of moon, if it happens, as compared to the noor being emanated from the moon in its actual shape and  hence it is the allusion of being ‘of no light’ i.e. بےنور. The result is that one should understand this knowledge that the existence of the possibilities is weak and nothing. And since this comprehension happens sometimes in the heart and sometimes it does not happen, thus the word ‘آید پر چوں’ is used in the couplet.
