کس بزیر دُمِّ خَر خارے نہد
If someone
puts a thorn under donkey’s tail
خَر نداند دفعِ آں بر می جہد
Donkey does not know to remove it
خَر ز بہرِ دفعِ خار از سوز و درد
In order
to remove thorn feeling pain and pricking
جُفتہ می انداخت صد
جا زخم کرد
It started kicking here and there and hot itself injured
آں لکد کے دفعِ خارِ اُو کند
How can
kicking remove its thorn?
حا ذقے باید کہ بر مر کز
فَتد
It requires an expert to understand the right place and remove it
بر جہد واں خار ممحکم تر کند
Donkey
jumps and thorn gets pricked more
عاقلے باید کہ خارے بر کند
An expert is needed to remove thorn
If
someone puts a thorn under the tail of a donkey, then the donkey will make
every effort to get rid of that thorn. As it does not know the way to remove it,
it starts jumping, which further allow the thorn to enter in its body. So as to
remove the thorn, a person knowing the art is needed. Donkey starts kicking
here and there to remove the thorn and in the process, get itself wounded. A
person known in the art of this is needed to relieve the donkey.
Similarly,
the ailments of lower self (نفس),
this world (دنیا) and internal (باطن)
ailments, it would be difficult for a person to correct and hence a perfect master
is needed to remedy these ailments.
