مُنقطع شد خوان و ناں از آسماں
The
dining mat and food was stopped from the sky
ماند رنجِ زَرعِ و بیل
و داسماں
The sadness of tilling through shovels & axes in the farm remains
The
free bounties that the community was getting was stopped because of
thanklessness of some people towards the gift of Allah Ta’ala. Thus the toiling
of tilling of farming for getting food was ordered for them. Quran says when
these people asked for garlic, gravy, vegetables, onions etc., and then it was
told to go to the nearby villages and labour in the field to produce the things
they wanted.
Thus
the lesson is thanklessness and disrespectful behaviors of few towards the free
bounties lead to stopping of the gifts and thereby harming not only those few
but the whole community as well. This is the example for clarifying the concept
outlined at Couplet 107 above. Another example of Prophet Jesus on the same
theme will follow.
