می رشید از دور مانند ِ ہلال
He
is coming like moon from afar
نیست بود وہستبر
شکلِ خیال
He was existent and non-existent like a thought
There
may be two reasons for comparing with crescent moon (ہلال)
– one would be wait and charm as moon is
being seen with utmost wait and desire. The other would be thin and weak due to
excess of efforts (مجاہدات)
and practices (ریاضات) like the thinness of moon. He has been described as both
existent (ہست) and non-existent (نیست),
which is due to different reasons. Existent is said because of the happening of
the event and non-existent is said in an exaggeration to show that he is seen
very weak, as if he has no existence. And in this meaning, it has been referred
with thought (خیال)
because the thought is in existence in reality and it has no existence in
respect of the one who are not experiencing this thought.
