خود غریبے در جہاں چوں شمس نیست
There is
no passenger like the sun
شمسِ جاں با قیست
کورا امس نیست
The sun of rooh is eternal & nothing as time lapsed for it
Meaning of ‘شمس’
in the first part of the couplet is the external sun and ‘شمسِ
جاں’ in the second part is Allah Ta’ala. Here again there is
repetition of the content mentioned above, as the sun is always in the move and
is dynamic – sometimes sets in and sometimes rises out. Allah Ta’ala is always
showing His manifestation and there is never ever a decline. ‘امس
نیست’ means there is no yesterday i.e. an allusion for never going
away from sight, as the existence of yesterday is with the setting in/movement
of the sun.
